Privacy Policy
The short version. Zodra has no accounts. If you give us your first name and birth details, they stay on your phone and are never sent anywhere. Your sign and settings stay there too. We count a few anonymous app events so we can improve the app. We do not sell your data, show ads, or track you across other apps.
This policy covers the Zodra iPhone app and the website at zodra.app. Zodra is made by an independent developer, called "we" or "us" below.
What stays on your phone
- Your zodiac sign, your notification time, and whether onboarding is done.
- Your first name, if you give it, and your birth date, birth time and birth place, if you give them. Your Sun, Moon and Rising signs are worked out from them on your phone. None of this is sent to us or anyone else.
- Birth place search. It uses a list of cities built into the app, so typing a city sends nothing and needs no location permission.
- Your card of the day, your sign matches, and everything else you read. All of it ships inside the app.
- Your daily horoscopes. They ship inside the app, so reading them sends nothing anywhere.
- Your daily reminder. It is scheduled on your phone, not sent from a server.
- Your widgets, which read your sign from the phone.
Deleting the app deletes all of this.
What we collect, and why
App usage events (Mixpanel)
To see which parts of the app work, we record a small set of events: that you started onboarding, what brought you to the app (love, work, yourself or daily guidance), your Sun sign, whether you gave a name, a birth time and a birth place (only yes or no, never the name or the details themselves), how many personality lines you agreed with, whether you allowed notifications, which tabs and screens you open, which pair of signs you checked in Match, which tarot card you drew, that a trial started, that you tapped share, whether you saw or accepted a special offer, and which widget sizes you use.
These events are tied to a random identifier that Mixpanel creates, not to your name or email. Mixpanel also receives basic device details, such as the phone model, iOS version, app version, and an approximate location (country and city) worked out from your IP address. We use this only to understand and improve Zodra.
Paywall and subscription events (Superwall)
Superwall shows the subscription screen and tells us whether people see it, start a trial, or subscribe. It receives similar device details and a random identifier.
Purchases (Apple)
Apple handles every payment. We never see your card or your Apple ID. The app only learns from Apple whether your subscription is active.
Special offers
If the app shows you a discounted offer, it asks our signing server (hosted on Cloudflare) to approve it. The request contains the product, the offer, and a random purchase identifier. It contains nothing about you, and the server does not store it.
The waitlist on zodra.app
If you join the waitlist, we store your email and the sign you picked with MailerLite, our email provider. We use it to send you the launch email. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
What we never do
- Sell or rent your data.
- Show ads, or share data with advertisers or data brokers.
- Track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- Send your name, birthday, birth time or birth place off your phone.
- Ask for your contacts, photos, or precise location.
Who processes data for us
Mixpanel (analytics), Superwall (subscription screen), Apple (payments), Cloudflare (offer signing), MailerLite (waitlist email), and Netlify (hosts this website). Each one only gets what it needs to do its job.
How long we keep it
Usage events are kept only as long as they help us improve the app. You can ask us to delete yours at any time. Waitlist emails are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
Your choices and rights
You can turn off notifications in iOS Settings, unsubscribe from any email, and delete the app at any time. You can also email us to see or delete the data connected to you. Wherever you live, we will answer within 30 days.
Children
Zodra is not made for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update it here and change the date at the top. Big changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
